OWL – OUTDOOR WASTE LAB, WILL HOST A CREATIVE WORKSHOP DURING THE OUTSIDERS LECTURES !
If you don’t know it yet, OWL collects from apparel brands end-of-life products or materials (customer returns, samples, third choice, etc.) and sorts, selects and imagine useful and unique objects while preserving each product own history.
Then, OWL assembles different materials and manufactures products (in Haute-Savoie / France) that will find a second life. The brand from Annecy offers to outdoor and surf brands to buy these new products derived from the “creative recycling” process.
Also, OWL proposes to everyone to participate to the “creative recycling” process by organizing “Apér’OWL” each month where anyone can come, cut a jacket, sew a pencil case and have a drink ! A great way to engage its community !
At The Outsiders Lectures, OWL (represented by Claire Alvernhe, stylist for outdoor brand, and Claire Chiquet, art director and graphic designer) will host a creative workshop during which you will be able to make your own tote bag or pencil case from textile waste. A 3 hour DIY class, learning and making each steps of the creative recycling process, from disassembling, and cutting to sewing.
